Yang biasa dilakukan eks-pembawa acara Indonesian Idol tersebut untuk menjaga penampilan dan kesehatan adalah berolahraga.

Lari merupakan salah satu hobi Daniel Mananta yang rutin dilakukan. Tepatnya sejak menjajal half marathon dalam Pocari Sweat Run, lima tahun lalu.

Daniel Mananta mengaku punya trik yang biasa dilakukan setiap kali akan mengikuti lomba lari jarak jauh seperti maraton. 

 

Namun, bukan latihan karena itu wajib untuk mereka yang ingin tampil dalam lomba lari seperti halnya Pocari Sweat Run Indonesia.  

Kiat tersebut disampaikan Daniel Mananta dalam konferensi pers perilisan Pocari Sweat Run Indonesia 2021, Selasa (2/3/2021).

"Ada program (namanya) carbo loading. Jadi, dari Kamis sampai Minggu (hari lomba) perbanyak makan nasi dan manis-manis." 

"Selama tiga atau empat hari sebelum maraton tidak minum air putih, hanya Pocari Sweat (cairan elektrolit) tiga liter setiap hari." 

"Karena itu bagian dari menambah tenaga hingga saat lari, Anda akan dapat tenaga ekstra. Ini cuma tiga hari selama carbo loading." 

Namun, pria 39 tahun itu menegaskan, diet dengan pola carbo loading ini harus berdasar pada pemantauan secara medis.

Pasalnya, konsumsi makanan manis dan cairan elektrolit untuk masing-masing orang, berbeda. Sesuai dengan berat badan agar konsumsi kalori harian terjaga.

Sistem diet seperti ini lebih populer di kalangan atlet yang membutuhkan daya tahan yang tinggi selama bertanding dengan intensitas tinggi.

Menyimpan cadangan karbohidrat dalam tubuh akan membantu atlet untuk menjaga stamina selama bertanding , bahkan dalam waktu lama.

Daniel menegaskan, selain diet, niat untuk menikmati seluruh rangkaian lomba menjadi hal terpenting jika ingin berpartisipasi dalam maraton.

"Kalau saya, enjoy saja (lari maraton). Jangan sampai lomba lari ini menjadi sesuatu yang membuat trauma," Daniel menuturkan. 

Pocari Sweat akan menggelar lomba lari virtual maupun offline pada 24 Oktober 2021. Pendaftaran kategori virtual dimulai 10 Maret pukul 13:00 WIB via aplikasi Born to Sweat.
