Bahaya Mengonsumsi Makanan Pedas secara Berlebihan

Akan tetapi, manfaat itu bisa tak terasa dan justru berubah jadi bahaya jika makanan pedas dikonsumsi dalam porsi berlebihan.

Gejala yang paling gampang teridentifikasi adalah sensasi "terbakar" di lidah hingga rasa mulas.

Dilansir Skor.id dari Halodoc.com, setidaknya ada enam bahaya terlalu banyak mengonsumsi makanan pedas.

1. Perut Mulas

Seperti ditulis di atas, rasa mulas adalah gejala yang sering dialami jika terlalu banyak mengonsumsi makanan pedas.

Hal itu terjadi karena mengonsumsi makanan pedas dapat mempercepat gerakan di usus yang mempermudah terjadinya diare.

Saat makanan pedas sampai di usus besar, efek iritasinya bakal langsung terasa. Lalu, tubuh akan mengirim lebih banyak air ke usus sehingga memudahkan feses keluar dari usus besar.

2. Rasa Nyeri Perut

Bagi penderita maag, makan makanan pedas bisa memicu naiknya asam lambung secara instan.

Mengonsumsi cabai terlalu banyak bisa membuat dinding lambung iritasi dan memicu naiknya asam lambung secara cepat. Itulah alasan mengapa perut terasa nyeri.

3. Gastritis (Maag Akut)

Mengonsumsi makanan pedas terlalu banyak dan sering dapat menyebabkan rapuhnya permukaan lambung sehingga menjadi mudah terluka.

Hal itu dapat memicu terjadinya gastritis atau maag akut akibat terjadinya peradangan pada lapisan lambung. Gejala penyakit ini adalah mual, muntah, perut kembung, dan diare.

4, Refluks Asam

Bagi sejumlah orang, makanan pedas dapat memicu refluks asam yang merupakan kondisi adanya aliran balik dari isi lambung ke kerongkongan.

Kondisi ini juga menyebabkan rasa panas seperti terbakar pada saluran kerongkongan.

Refluks asam bisa memicu sindrom Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), luka pada kerongkongan (esofagitis), dan atypical syndrome

5. Mengurangi Sensitivitas Lidah

Terlalu banyak mengonsumsi makanan pedas juga bisa mengurangi bahkan menghilangkan sensitivitas lidah dalam mengecap rasa.

Jika sensitivitas berkurang, lidah tidak lagi berfungsi optimal untuk menentukan porsi makanan pedas yang dapat ditoleransi oleh tubuh.

6. Insomnia

Setelah mengonsumsi makanan pedas, suhu tubuh akan meningkat sehingga mengeluarkan keringat.

Studi The International Journal of Psychology menyebut makanan pedas bisa melukai perut dan mengaktifkan hormon kimia yang bisa membuat kamu terjaga di malam hari.
