Zucchini memiliki beberapa manfaat bagi tubuh berkat nutrisi yang dikandungnya seperti antioksidan.

Kandungan serat dalam zucchini berfungsi untuk mempercepat pencernaan di dalam usus sehingga terhindar dari penyakit sembelit.

Penelitian yang diterbitkan dalam Handbook of Experimental Pharmacology menyebutkan bahwa kekurangan serat merupakan penyebab utama sembelit.

2. Membantu hidrasi dalam tubuh

Zucchini dapat membantu tubuh untuk mencapai hidrasi yang baik lantaran minum air mineral secara rutin saja tidak cukup.

Zucchini merupakan sayuran yang mengandung banyak air sehingga dapat membantu mengatur keseimbangan air dalam tubuh.

3. Memperkuat imun

Vitamin C dan E yang terkandung di dalam zucchini berguna untuk memperkuat imun atau kekebalan tubuh.

Penelitian dalam jurnal Nutrients mengatakan bahwa mengonsumsi zucchini secara rutin akan menurunkan risiko terserang penyakit menular.

Vitamin C bertugas sebagai penguat pertahanan sedangkan vitamin E berperan sebagai penetralisir radikal bebas dalam tubuh.

Meski begitu, mengonsumsi zucchini secara rutin tidak cukup untuk menjaga kesehatan jika tidak diimbangi usaha-usaha lain seperti rutin olahraga dan istirahat yang cukup.
