Banyak para ahli mengatakan berjemur pagi dapat meminimalisir virus corona yang akan masuk kedalam tubuh.

Selain itu, sinar matahari pagi juga dapat menghasilkan sinar UV (ultraviolet) yang menyentuh permukaan kulit untuk diubah oleh tubuh menjadi vitamin D.

Vitamin D dibutuhkan untuk menjalankan fungsi metabolisme kalsium, imunitas tubuh, serta mentransmisi kerja otot dengan saraf.

Oleh karena itu, banyak yang menganjurkan berjemur selama 15 menit pada waktu yang tepat, yaitu sebelum pukul 10.00 setidaknya dua hingga tiga kali dalam seminggu.

Adapun manfaat sinar matahari untuk kulit manusia. Tubuh manusia tidak dapat memproduksi vitamin D dengan sendirinya.

Terlebih, kandungan vitamin D ternyata cukup terbatas hanya dari jenis-jenis makanan tertentu saja.

Kecukupan asupan vitamin D bagi tubuh dapat menghindarkan tubuh dari penyakit rheumatoid arthritis, tuberkulosis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes tipe 1, dan osteomalacia.

Selain itu,kekurangan vitamin D pada anak-anak dapat mengakibatkan penyakit rakitis.

Sinar matahari berperan penting di dalam menjaga dan merawat kesehatan kulit. Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) menyatakan paparan sinar matahari dapat mengatasi sejumlah kondisi kulit.

Sejumlah dokter pun merekomendasikan radiasi sinar UV untuk menangani kulir berjerawat, eksim, sakit kuning, dan psoriasis.

Meski demikian, sebaiknya hindari berjemur pada kisaran pukul 10.00-16.00 karena dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan kulit dan meningkatkan risiko timbulnya kanker kulit.

Menariknya, tidak hanya menyehatkan, sinar matahari pagi dipercaya mampu memberikan rasa bahagia.

Hal ini disebabkan oleh banyaknya produksi hormon kebahagiaan yang disebut serotonin.
