Cara Atasi Mulut Pahit

  • Beberapa penyebab mulut terasa pahit adalah konsumsi obat-obatan, kehamilan, penyakit asam lambung, mulut kering dan sedang sakit.

SKOR.id - Saat tubuh dalam kondisi tidak stabil, terkadang akan membuat mulut terasa pahit.

Mulut yang terasa pahit ini merupakan salah satu bentuk dysgeusia.

Dysgeusia sendiri adalah gangguan pada indra pengecap manusia.

Pada dasarnya mulut manusia memiliki kurang lebih 10 ribu tunas pengecap yang tersebar di lidah, langit-langit mulut dan juga kerongkongan yang berbatasan dengan tenggorokan.

Setiap tunas dalam mulut memliki reseprto sel sensorik untuk membantu merasakan rasa manis, asin, asam, pahit dan gurih.

Biasanya dysgeusia bersifat sementara dan bisa berangsur membaik apabila mendapatkan penanganan yang tepat sesuai dengan penyebabnya.

Beberapa penyebab mulut terasa pahit adalah konsumsi obat-obatan, kehamilan, penyakit asam lambung, mulut kering dan sedang sakit.

Untuk mengatasi mulut pahit, beberapa cara di bawah ini bisa dilakukan.

  1. Berkumur dengan larutan garam dan baking soda
  2. Menghentikan kebiasaan merokok
  3. Menyikat gigi secara teratur dan berkumur dengan mouthwash
  4. Untuk ibu hamil tambahkan perasa asam seperti lemon, jeruk nipis atau cuka pada makanan
  5. Untuk meningkatkan produksi air liur, konsumsi lebih banyak cairan dan mengunyah permen karet bebas gula.
  6. Hindari maknan berlemak dan pedas karena dapat meningkatkan asam lambung.

Apabila gangguan indra perasa membuat kesulitan makan dan tidak berhasil ditangani dengan beberapa cara di atas sebaiknya segera hubungi dokter.
